DNR was planning to clearcut 66 acres of this forest in the “Breaking Bud” timber sale, but our discovery of a rare ecosystem has delayed the timber sale. DIFFICULTY: MODERATE Four-mile round trip hike. Trail is steep in places.

Trail is steep in places.
