Located on the Usual and Accustomed lands of the Chehalis Tribe, the Waddell Creek Legacy Forest was once slated for logging in DNR's "Sparrow Hawk" timber sale. The forest—home to massive Douglas firs, stunning western redcedars, and irreplaceable wildlife habitat—has since been spared! Join LFDC as we celebrate this one-of-a-kind native ecosystem in Capitol State Forest. When: Sunday, March 22nd, 2026 from 11am–3pm

What: The hike will be approximately 3 miles roundtrip, with both on-trail and off-trail sections.
