Capitol State Forest

Cedar Creek Watershed

Description

Located in the heart of Capitol State Forest, you will find close to 600 acres of legacy forests growing on the slopes of the mountain nick-named "Fuzzy Top". These vibrant and biologically diverse forests contain ancient standing dead snags, dense carpets of oxalis (sorrel), and towering 95-year old Douglas fir. This forest is threatened by multiple timber sales that are planned in the area, including "Macho Man", "Mean Gene" and "Rad Aghast".
