About the event
LFDC is excited to co-host this group walk with our new friends at the Washington Native Plant Society (WNPS)! Located on the ancestral lands of the Snoqualmie Tribe, the “South Paw” timber sale threatens a rare forest ecosystem at the southern end of Tiger Mountain State Forest. This forest is one of the more accessible legacy forests on Tiger Mountain and is home to massive Douglas firs, western redcedars, cottonwoods and more. South Paw was originally scheduled for auction in 2023, then got delayed thanks largely to the Snoqualmie Tribe, and is now at risk once again.
On Sunday, October 12th, join LFDC and the Washington Native Plant Society (WNPS) in southern Tiger Mountain for learning, connecting, plant identifying and more!
Where: We'll meet at the Tiger Mountain Trailhead in Mirrormont. NOTE: This trailhead is in the SOUTHERN end of Tiger Mountain State Forest (https://maps.app.goo.gl/WtXGovDrnRNsc2jy8)
