Located on the Usual and Accustomed lands of the Chehalis Tribe, the Gaddis Creek Legacy Forest is at imminent risk. A large part of this biodiverse ecosystem was recently auctioned off in DNR's "Jackie Paper" timber sale, which would clearcut over 80 acres of century-old legacy forest directly adjacent to an occupied marbled murrelet nesting site. Jackie Paper is one of 32 timber sales that the Legacy Forest Defense Coalition is challenging in court. Please join LFDC on Sunday, April 27th to experience the Gaddis Creek Legacy Forest!
When: Sunday, May 4th, 2025 from 11am–3pm Where: Meet outside Porter Fire Station 52, just east of Highway 12 on Porter Creek Rd. From there, we'll caravan to the forest.
What: This hike will be approximately 5 miles round-trip. Attendees can expect 2 miles on a moderately steep logging road (800 feet of elevation gain), followed by optional off-trail exploring in the woods…
