About the event
What do orcas have to do with old-growth forests? Join us in the woods on October 19th (the day after Orca Recovery Day) to find out! Located on the ancestral lands of the Chehalis Tribe, the last remaining patch of old growth in the Lower Chehalis State Forest is at imminent risk. Washington State's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has slated 73 acres for logging in its proposed "Suzie Q" timber sale, which includes rare native forest, vital wildlife habitat, and a stand that LFDC recently identified as old growth. Come experience the forest firsthand with LFDC, Twin Harbors Waterkeeper Lee First, and Wild Fish Conservancy's Jamie Glasgow. Full details below ⬇
