About the event
Located on Sq’ʷayáiɬaqtmš (Chehalis) Territory on the west side of Capitol State Forest, the "Misty" timber sale threatens to clearcut nearly 90 acres of rare, structurally complex forest up to 154 years old. Misty is among dozens of reckless timber sales that former commissioner Hilary Franz and the Board of Natural Resources approved for logging in late 2024. It is scheduled for auction in February 2025, but LFDC is appealing the sale in court. Come experience the forest, connect with others, and learn about ways to get involved in the legacy forest movement! This walk is co-hosted by our friends at the Center for Responsible Forestry.
When: Saturday, March 15th from 11am–3pm
Where: Meet at 11am at the Oakville High School Parking Lot (south side of US-12). From there, we'll caravan to the forest.
